Prof. Eva Derous

Professor of Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Ghent University (Belgium)


Eva Derous is an Associate Professor of Industrial and Organizational Psychology in the Department of Personnel Management, Work and Organizational Psychology at the Ghent University (Belgium). She received both her BA/MA and Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Leuven (Belgium) and subsequently worked as an assistant professor at the Erasmus University of Rotterdam (the Netherlands) before she joined Ghent University. Eva’s research interests are in human resources management and recruitment and selection in particular, with a specific focus on diversity and discrimination-related issues (considering ethnicity, age, gender). She obtained several research grants among which a Fulbright research grant from the KNAW/Fulbright Centre Amsterdam, serves on editorial boards of international journals, and has published her work in journals including Personnel Psychology, the Journal of Organizational Behavior, the Journal of Vocational Behavior, and Human Resource Management Review. From an evidence-based perspective, she regularly provides consultancy for companies and she is a member of several advisory committees.
